When Tom finds himself in the Children’s ward at Lord Funt Hospital he meets his fellow residents Sally, Amber, Robin and George; and our story begins. The Children’s Ward at Lord Funt Hospital isn’t your normal Children’s Ward. It is home to the Midnight Gang. When Big Ben strikes midnight the adventures begin.
AWESOME, FUNNY, HEARTWARMING.
Another absolute gem by David Walliams. A beautiful story about friendship and imagination. David has done a marvellous job of keeping this story light while touching on subjects of illness and isolation. With both loveable and hate-able characters this book is un-put-down-able.
This is David Walliams’ longest book, but the chapters are still short and as usual there are plenty of Tony Ross’ fantastic illustrations to enjoy.
I absolutely love reading David Walliams’ books, they never fail to entertain. The Midnight Gang definitely doesn’t disappoint, in fact it may even surpass its predecessors.
In the midst of all the fun and adventure is a truly heartwarming tale. The last few chapters of this book were extremely touching.
David has once again given us a Masterclass in children’s literature. His ability to create exciting stories whilst incorporating themes such as friendship, dishonesty, inner beauty and illness is unmatched.
This book is the perfect addition to any bookshelf, regardless of age. I genuinely can’t wait to see what David Walliams comes up with next.
