The Land Of Stories: The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer

Book 1 of The Land Of Stories series.

Twins Alex and Conner have been having a hard time after losing their father. After speaking to the twins mother, their grandmother comes to visit and gives the twins a cherished book of fairy tales. When Alex mistakenly opens a magical portal through the book their grandmother gave them, the twins find themselves transported to The Land Of Stories. The excitement of finding themselves in a land full of magic and the fairytale characters they grew up reading about soon wears off, as the twins come face to face with witches, wolves, goblins and trolls. Alex and Conner must survive deadly obstacles while they travel through the land of stories in order to find their way home.

The Land of Stories is such a beautiful, engaging book.

I loved getting to read about the fairytale characters I grew up loving in different more exciting situations. This book is over flowing with great characters to fall in love with.

With a fun and fast-moving plot, this book kept me turning the page with excitement from start to finish.

The Land of Stories would be a great book to read with children. As an adult I adored this book so I can only imagine the reaction kids would have while reading or being read it.

I really loved the relationship between Alex and Conner, as someone with siblings, I thought their relationship was very realistic.

Chris Colfer has done a marvellous job in creating this magical world, weaving all the stories we know and love together seamlessly.

While reading this book I found myself smiling and giggling and becoming very excited as more characters and iconic fairytale places were introduced to the story.

Once I finished this book I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the series.

The Land Of Stories: The Wishing Spell is a truly entertaining reading experience. If you havent experienced the magic yet, do it now.
